 Welcome to the NTU Men's and Ladies' Dragonboat Team webpage. This Page aims to give prospective team members a place to check out more on our team, its history, Achievements in the past years, as well as sharing what you would get to experience during our annual Dragonboat Experience. This year's NTU Dragonboat Experience 2009 would be held on 29th August 2009 from 9am - 12noon at Kallang, Singapore Dragonboat Association. Please refer to How to get there for more details!
In the recent years, the Dragonboat scene in Singapore has became increasingly competitive. Having successfully clinching the prestigious Prime Minister Cup in the year 2008 and once again for the year 2009 for the Men's category, we have re-written the history books for keeping the title for two years consecutively. Victory this year is especially sweeter as the Ladies' team were able to clinch the Prime Minister Cup on their side as well. Hence, defending our double title would be an uphill task.
We are calling out to all interested guys and girls to join us in our fight to defend our titles. We need good men and women, not just simply good rowers. Do not worry if you are inexperienced or feel inadequate at your fitness level. As long as you are passionate and driven and are keen to join us, your motivation to help yourself will also help carry you through our training and you shall do improve and do just fine.
In the next few years in NTU, besides acquiring an education, why not also challenge yourself and join the NTU Dragonboat team. You can earn a chance to represent the school as a member of one of the prestigious sport teams of the school.
Joining the NTU Dragonboat team, you gain more than just the physical brawn but in life as well. The mental discipline and also the strong bonds and friendships that can last a lifetime for we not just a team but also a family. You shall also develop leadership qualities such as confidence, composure as well as perseverance.
For those who are interested in joining the NTU Dragonboat Team, we welcome you to join us for our land trainings at the following timings:
For the year 09/10
Men's team: Land Training : Mondays, Wednesday 6pm - 8pm, SRC grandstand
Women's Team: Land Training: Tuesday, Thursdays 6.30pm - 8.30pm, SRC grandstand
Details about Water Training for both teams will be disclosed during the land trainings.
We warmly welcome you to join our men's from August 19th and women's training from August 20th onwards. Please be in your usual running attire and bring along a water bottle for your own convenience.
